This is part of the #Dungeon23 challenge in which you make one room to a dungeon every day for a year. In an effort to link my memories to the creation, I am also writing a personal journal entry with each room that may or may not be related.
You don’t have to read that part.

C4.

A map using the DungeonScrawl website. Check it out.

The passage from C2 opens up into a cavern, half of which is filled with water. The sound of water running over a short waterfall fills the area.

The room is alight by a glowing blue mist that sits just above the lake.

If inspecting from a distance one might see that there are slithering eels at the bottom of the lake. A particularly keen eye may even notice some bones at the bottom of the lake, though considering what they’ve seen with the Visceranga this may not be surprising.

Someone with the appropriate background might know these eels to be Sleg Eels, and will understand the danger of crossing this lake,

Sleg Eels create a poisonous mist through some biological function I couldn’t even begin to explain right now. Heat? Perpetual motion? Farts? Who knows I’m not an eel doctor.

Anyway if you try to cross the lake this mist will make you fall asleep - barring a save of some sort.

The eels will swarm on to the fallen and hold them down underwater until they drown, then begin eating them.

A rock at the north end of the lake clearly has an explorer’s backpack resting on it.

In the backpack is some rations, a couple of torches and tinder box. Five mixing bowls, and some apothecary tools. A book on herbalism that will teach you how to collect and make some helpful items. Practical shit.

3/4/23

Got up at 4 am. Drove to Chicago. Been cleaning the old place all day. Tired as hell. So we get a sleeprelated problem for today’s room.

Also a bag of useful items that aren’t flash magical shit.

Happy Birthday Chicago. 186 years old.

Gonna finish this UFC show which has been great so far, and then go to bed.

See you tomorrow.
