B5.
This is part of the #Dungeon23 challenge in which you make one room to a dungeon every day for a year. In an effort to link my memories to the creation, I am also writing a personal journal entry with each room that may or may not be related.
You don’t have to read that part.
B5.
The northern section of this room was destroyed by the cataclysm that swallowed up Kik’ina Kir. The Northern wall is the raw earth and rock of a cave wall, a contrast to the other walls made of stone and brick.
The door to this room scrapes across the floor when you open it. When closed it allows no light to enter this room.
In the center of the room is a nest of fabrics and feathers, and looks rather cozy.
This room is used for vision quests by Brunda the Seer. This room becomes pitch black and in this intense darkness Brunda claims to see into the realms of Chaos and find meaning. Sight beyond sight.
There is a 1-6 chance that Brunda The Seer is here when you enter and you just interrupted her from seeing something vitally important. This disruption might be catastrophic for both the Riglum and Ashfoot tribes. Thanks a lot, asshole you ruined the vibe.
If you try to use the room yourself you must do so for 24 uninterrupted hours. The GM then rolls a d6.
On a 1 the forces of Chaos come for you and tempt you with some type of quest that will cause disorder.
On a 6 you are touched by the forces of Law, who see something great in you, and request that you join them in the fight against Chaos. And you should make your way to the next floor down, as their a great and powerful being of Chaos that needs to be destroyed.
On a 2-5, you fall asleep and it’s like the best fucking sleep ever. You have dope ass dreams about eating ice cream and hanging with your buddies like the good ol’ days. When you awake you feel ready to take on the world. What a nice room.
2/5/23
As I mentioned yesterday this is my first entry while out of town.
It’s based on a room in my mother-in-law’s house which is my favorite room to sleep in of all time.
I’m about to sleep in it right now. And I’ll be real with you all, after we move closer I’m probably going to visit her more just to sleep in this room.
This used to be Gail’s bedroom when she was in highschool. I think it’s why we both got black out curtains when we moved to Chicago. We want total darkness when we go to bed… which is hard in the city no matter what you’re working with.
So this room is dedicated to my mom-in-law. I know there are lots of jokes about in-laws, but Gail’s mom is the best, and has been so great to us over the years. I’m really fortunate to have married into a family that I actually enjoy being around. They’re all just really nice people.
…
Tomorrow we close on our new home. It’s blowing my fucking mind.
See you tomorrow.
