B16.
This is part of the #Dungeon23 challenge in which you make one room to a dungeon every day for a year. In an effort to link my memories to the creation, I am also writing a personal journal entry with each room that may or may not be related.
You don’t have to read that part.
B16.
Opening the door to this room is difficult, as there is some debris blocking it.
The floor inside erupted centuries ago, ruining everything in this room. It is now a mess of shattered stone and sharp jutting rocks.
In the northeast corner of the room is a tunnel leading deeper into the earth and to the third level of this mega dungeon.
A cold wind slithers across your skin.
You can hear the echo of squealing in the darkness.
In the rubble in the western side of the room are the skeletal remains of a Kik’ina Kir soldier. Their clothes have faded over time. Their skull is smashed in.
A rolled piece of fabric has remained clinched in their fist all these years, stained with the fluids of decomposition.
It is written in Law, so only those who speak that alignment language have a chance of deciphering it.
It is a very powerful ritual that was meant to deliver the fortress from the clutches of Inosh - an avatar of Chaos that had corrupted Kik’ina Kir.
There are several ingredients necessary for this ritual, which may prove difficult to find. No I don’t know what those are right now. But it should obviously be hard, and succeeding may cause Kik’ina Kir to rise from the earth. Something dope like that.

When I started writing this room it was going to just be a hole in the ground. Then it became a possible magic spell to save Kik’ina Kir.
I’m kinda mad that I don’t have a good idea of how that spell would work, but it must obviously be really involved process. I love spells being complicated equations with technical requirements.
I just want more rituals in my spellcraft. Like I hate how in D&D Fifth Edition rituals are just something done in the background while everyone else debates the next move.
Rituals should be a “everyone shut the fuck up and hold hands or else this spell will blow us up.”
Or somewhere between the two.
It should feel like a ritual is all I’m saying.
…
Took my sister to dinner, which was a great feeling despite having one of the worst chicken sandwiches I’ve ever had in my life. From a non fast-food restaurant anyway. But I wasn’t even mad, I just accepted it as a culinary failure and enjoyed my family’s company. It was great just getting to hear about her work and what she does. I’ve been missing all this for years. I won’t take it for granted.
See you tomorrow.
