This is part of the #Dungeon23 challenge in which you make one room to a dungeon every day for a year. In an effort to link my memories to the creation, I am also writing a personal journal entry with each room that may or may not be related.
You don’t have to read that part.

The door to this room is locked and boarded up.

A map using the DungeonScrawl website. Check it out.

This room used to be an exit to the balcony of Kik’ina Kir, but is now partially collapsed by stone and earth.

A keen eye may discover that a small boulder is covering a hole in the floor. It will take one of significant strength to move it. Or perhaps a clever adventurer can come up with another solution.

Moving the boulder leads to a room on the lower level of Kik’ina Kir.

This hole was used by Nurblik, who can be found in room A24. After his capture, the Necromancer closed it up.

Celebrate!

1/31/23

Well how about that. I made a dungeon.

This is a big deal and I think one might be inclined to overlook it because it is only the first of 12. Only the first 31 of 365 rooms.

But it is much more than that.

First it’s proof that I can make a dungeon. And I think it’s a pretty good attempt. I think there’s a few sessions worth of fun, with enough options that I couldn’t tell you what would happen if players took a stab at it.

Secondly, it’s 31 days worth of writing. 31 straight attempts at being creative, and committing to a schedule. 31 days of consistency, even when inspiration may not have been present.

That’s huge. I mean. One could write a novel fairly quickly with that kind of dedication.

A lot of magic happens if you apply yourself 31 days straight. This felt like magic.

With some adjustments this could be a stand alone adventure. Just close off the next level down and it’s good to go. That’s pretty fucking cool.

I hope everyone out there taking part in Dungeon 23 is celebrating their accomplishment today. Sure there’s more to do, but you just did something special, and can do it again. 11 more times if you want.

See you tomorrow.
