D4.
This is part of the #Dungeon23 challenge in which you make one room to a dungeon every day for a year. In an effort to link my memories to the creation, I am also writing a personal journal entry with each room that may or may not be related.
You don’t have to read that part.
D4.
The interior of this tree is very different from the D1 tree. It is dark and hardened, and covered with a pink bioluminescent fungus.
If you look oustside you can see that there are other trees with burrows alight with pink fungus.
It’s harmless and can be harvested and used like a lantern.
If you squint you might be able to make out a rope bridge connecting D5 and D7.
Intelligent life?

Just teasing out what’s going on down here. I talked out a few things with Gail and I’m getting excited about this and the next two months/levels.
This whole project has really gotten my body excited about writing. I’ve got several fun book projects on my mind, and considering how much I’ve written for this blog over the last three months, I feel way more confident about writing a book.
About to watch this new episode of Yellowjackets. If you’re not watching Yellowjackets you should be. Great great cast, and a fun story. I think the most shocking aspect of the first season was how talented the young members of the cast were. I knew Juliette Lewis, Melanie Lynskey and Christina Ricci would be a blast, but the younger versions of those actors are just as entertaining.
Back in college I was obsessed with the Donner Party. I read whatever I could about them. I wanted to write a play about cannibalism. I may still do that some day. But until then - I have this show to enjoy.
Highly recommend.
See you tomorrow.
