A20.
This is part of the #Dungeon23 challenge in which you make one room to a dungeon every day for a year. In an effort to link my memories to the creation, I am also writing a personal journal entry with each room that may or may not be related.
You don’t have to read that part.
A20.
On the southern wall of this room is a large bronze statue of a general, sitting with his legs crossed.
The figure of this statue looks to be relaxed and in deep contemplation. Surrounded by the dark smoke of incense.
However, a slew of bronze sculpted arrows, swords, spears and other sharp weapons are sticking out of his broad back.
The remains of rotted mats line the floor.
There is a trap door in the ceiling that will take you to the roof, it was the hatch mentioned as one of the methods of entry in A9.
There are shelves of incense on the eastern wall. It looks like it was bought recently.
Extinguishing this incense will cause the Bronze Statue to rise and attack all intruders.
SECRET DOOR
If the Bronze Statue is removed from its pedestal (it’s too heavy to lift by hand), an outline can be found where it was sitting. There is a hatch here that leads to a crawl space, which will take you to room A21.

I kinda like the idea of this big bronze “golem”. This is a room for prayer and contemplation, but war is always waiting. I feel like the statue conveys a little of this dead culture’s mentality. I hope it does anyway.

Date night tonight. Gail’s turn to pick the movies. No idea what she’s going to pick. But I think she’s excited about it.
…
Got some sleep today. I’ve been having some terrible headaches all day.
That’s pretty much it. Nothing super introspective. For today. I don’t think it should have to be.
Besides I got dinner to make.
Off to go be a dad.
See you tomorrow.
