art of sunbeams (part 1)
We’re currently two episodes into our third season of Out of Depth Plays: Sunbeams and I wanted to share with you all some of the artistic references for the show. As we make and receiver more art, we’ll post them.
In the gallery below we have an image of Solis Bay, which I made using Midjourney AI. It’s difficult to get AI to make cities, but I thought this was really inspiring. I thought it would be cool for Solis Bay to have district where the capital building is the tallest building(an idea I got from Madison, Wisconsin), and as the city expanded the ordinances changed creating this kind of skyline.
We also have a rendition of Gail’s character Labyrinth. I hired someone on Fiverr and this is what I got. It’s pretty neat, but it’s not exactly what we wanted either. At a certain point you kind of realize the limitations of the artist and the platform, and I just didn’t have time to make them start over again. It’s still cool though. Gail says the “real” Labyrinth is more sporty and agile as opposed to the very… buxom model shown here. She’d also where different shows so that she can parkour her way through the city.
The last two portraits were again made with Midjourney. You’ll meet them in Episode 2 of the show.
Soon we’ll have some imagery of David’s character Lazarus, which I quite like.
